Love art? Want to help support the Hurricane Sandy Relief effort?

Then check out the DailyPaintworks website, www.DailyPaintworks.com.

They’re currently running an online auction fundraiser. For as little as $20, you can nab an original oil, water color or pastel for your home, and select from a wide range of landscapes, still lifes, abstracts, animal art and more.

As of this writing, 142 pieces of original art are offered in the fundraiser, and over $8,500 has been raised.

100% of the funds raised are being donated  back by the artists to a charity of their choice, such as the American Red Cross, or even directly to a neighbor, friend or family member in need as a result of the storm.

The entire process is made incredibly simple. It took me under 3 minutes to register to bid. Payment is equally easy, using PayPal or credit card. You can preview all the images by scrolling through, or use their handy search tool to sort by title or key word, color, artist name, or even which items will be going off auction soon.

The auction itself goes quickly – some paintings have just hours to go before the winning bid will be announced; others will be going to the highest bidder within the next week. I’ve already “won” one auction that I bid on just this morning. And it all goes to a most worthy cause.

Last year, this family-run art website raised over $31,000 for the victims of the tsunami.

Additionally, the site also carries 47,000 other works of art, all inexpensive, and as you can see, fun to peruse.

Hi Carrol – Thanks for your comment. This particular auction site (DailyPaintWorks) has some really nice original art, the site is easy to navigate and the prices are always “right.” Whether supporting the Hurricane Sandy Relief, or just finding something fun from their regular auction, I’m sure you’ll enjoy pouring over their offerings.

Update. I won both of my bids – meaning $120 was contributed to the American Red Cross, and I am soon to be the proud owner of two beautiful pieces of art. Check out Mary Maxam’s lovely oils — I bid on her “Rouge – Pink floral”. I also won a pretty pen and water color titled, “Afternoon Shadows On Walloon Lake” by Sarah Tule. Both artists’ galleries can be viewed at: http://www.dailypaintworks.com

There is still time to get in on the action – over 300 paintings are still available – be sure to click on the site’s Hurricane Sandy Relief icon to view paintings going to this worthy cause.
